Some time ago one friend showed me a great game called Toribash, where you take control of all of your character's body to perform various moves. How is that possible? I asked that question too. Every X milliseconds game pauses and let's you and your opponent adjust the body joints (you don't see what opponent sets.) After time runs out or both players have marked themselves as ready, game resumes for X milliseconds again and so on until the match timer runs out or someone wins. It's much easier to grasp the concept once you have played it.
Also, I have 10 tips to get you started:
- If you want people to respect you, never ever clap. Clapping is when you set both of your arms to grab and contract both pecs, so it looks like the character is clapping.
- Don't use mouse clicks to change state of joints, use keyboard, this will save you time.
- Don't be afraid to relax joints. Relaxing usually makes your moves smooth and pro-like.
- If contracting and extending makes your desired body part to move too far, relaxing (again) usually puts body parts just in the right position.
- Change state of most joints each pause. If you change only one or two joints, you are likely to lose, because opponent sets his moves according to ghosts and by changing much you render his ghosts almost useless.
- Try to stay on the ground. Once you leave the ground and opponent grabs you, you become his bitch.
- Invent your own moves. By using predefined moves most players know, you are most likely to be countered easily since most new players use it and more advanced players know counter moves to it.
- When you're standing firmly on the ground and your opponent is grabbed in the air, release him to make him fly out of the ring (if you're playing a mode with boundaries.) If he hasn't grabbed you, he will have no way to win the battle, because he will not have any control over you.
- Never rage quit, not only in Toribash, but in any other game as well. I've seen, oh, so many players who spam chat with how good they are and when defeat seems obvious the just leave. Not only this makes you look bad, but it also makes people think you're 12.
- The quickest way to make money is to fight in Tourneys. Search for servers with description "500 TC Tourney Starts Now." It can also be 750 TC and even more. Once you're on the server type /enter in the chat.
